| Her new boots crunched through the debris of what had once been the Talos Manor. Above her head flew three Dark Light Orbs, casting an eerie glow over everything as she moved. She shook her head at what lay before her, reaching down to pick out what had once been the frame on one of the mirrors that hung on the entry way walls. It was weather worn and rusted now, when once it had gleamed and sparkled. She heaved a soft sigh and let it fall from her dark nails to hit the broken marble of the flooring, plants had moved in to reclaim the Talos Manor.
This had been the home for generations of Talos for hundreds of years, this and many others like it all over the world. They were a tight nit and power hungry family, only trusting each other, but they were far wandering. They would go wherever they had to, to get what they wanted. Power, money, a mate. Whatever they needed to further the Talos line and ensure their survival as a family.
Until Enlightenment came.
This world seemed to have forgotten the Talos family, the sight of her no longer instilled fear where ever she roamed. That needed to change. The upper stories of the manor had all been obliterated when the Rift opened in the middle of the second floor, leaving rubble and walls laying for miles across the mountainsides for the animals to claim them as their own. However, Donnica was hoping that the secret enclave hadn't been too disturbed. Gliding through the rubble, her dark light orbs bouncing around her head, she moved from the entry way to the library. She'd spent many an hour studying in this room, pouring over every spell book that had been handed down through the family, handwritten by the most powerful witches that Terra had ever seen.
And now it was all destroyed. However, Donnica could see the signs of life, the signs that not everything had been destroyed. Furniture was missing, Books gone, without even a trace they'd once been there. Most of those books had been old, written on leather not paper. Bits of them should have still been here. This made her smile, to know that she wouldn't be alone in her new vendetta. Terra would fall to it's knees before the Talos family once again.
At the back of the library, where the fireplace had once stood, Donnica knelt down. Her flowing purple shirt belted at her waist to accent the swell of her hips. Black pants covering her long legs but certainly not hiding the beauty behind them. Donnica was a woman in her prime, powerful...nothing was going to stop her. Calling up the Mana within her, dark eyes glowing purple, she brought a hand down to the tile of the fireplace flooring, purple Mana crackling around her fingertips. As she touched her hand to the floor, the marble would crack open, sliding apart to reveal a long stairwell that lead down into darkness.
Footsteps behind her caused her lips to curl into a mischievous smile as her new Mana sense instantly told her who was standing behind her. "Nice of you to join me Daven." She said, turning to look at him, though what she saw had her dark eyes widening in shock. "My, My, My...would you look at you. What a pleasant surprise...did you do this for me?" She knew he wouldn't have, but she would enjoy it none the less. Daven had moved on to a new a body, and this one she liked far beyond any of his others so far. This one complimented her own form and power much better. |

| Wandered along the wastelands absent of mind and purpose and just deciding that walking was something he wanted to do today. He had gotten out of work with the department early because of a massive bust he had headed up. The bust was on a ring of bookies and muggers he had worked with when he was in his other body nd so he was able to make the moves needed to have it seem legit and then he went and made the bust and everyone looked at him like some kind of super cop for the day. It was far to easy to manipulate people when you had a badge and he was finding that he enjoyed the games he was playing with them all. He had been walking for maybe an hour when he looked up and saw the ruins of Talos manor standing before him.
Vines grew up the sides of the building and had found cracks to slip through that allowed them to move into the building itself. It was still standing which was impressive for the amount of time it seemed to be left empty and as he walked foreword to the door he noticed that the foundation and the walls that had been shattered when the rift opened were still holding strong as if they refused to buckle and fall. The house it self seemed to have the never back down attitude of the Talos family and the thought made him smirk as he pushed open the door and crossed the threshold to enter the building itself.
The plant's had managed to gain a stronghold within the home as well and had grown tall among the rubble and animals the had walked along the cracked marble floor of the once proud manor. He ran his hand along the wall as memories of the place flooded back to him and he closed his eyes for a moment able to picture it clear as day when he was first summoned by Donnica to this realm. He smiled and opened his eyes before walking along the entrance hall and he hung a left to stand within what was once the Talos den.
The plant life was strong here was well and what caught his attention most was a giant plant in the center with a massive bulb that laid flat upon the floor. He had been in the wastelands awhile and he knew what the plant was so he smirked and picked up a broken piece of wood then tossed it at the bulb. Moments before impact the pulp opened to a mouth and the carnivorous plant snapped the wood in half before remaining motionless once more. He turned from the room and made his way in a bit further.
Coming to the library he stepped inside and before him was Donnica who was gathering up her mana and as she touched the floor he watched the hidden door open for her as if it missed her touch. He took a step foreword and before he could speak she was already greeting him without having to turn around. No matter how many times she was able to greet him without actually seeing him he could still not get used to it. The power she had no was far beyond anything she had been capable of before and he silently applauded her for surpassing every other member of her family to become the strongest of the Talos.
The look of shock on her face when she saw him made him chuckle a bit as he knew it was not easy to shock the witch. He forgot that she had yet to see his new face and now was the first time she got the chance to drink it in.She seemed to approve which was a good thing because had she not he had no doubt she would have tried to kill the host in order to make him find a new one.I had no idea you were hear sweetie. I guess it is my lucky day today." He moved foreword and kissed her her cheek in greeting happy that he was not the only one here.
"I had no intention of swapping bodies however I ran into a bit of trouble and was forced to find a new host. The lack of ink upon the skin is a bit annoying however and the man who used to own it was a bit to wholesome for my taste but overall it is a nice fit I think. Im glad that you approve and maybe once we conclude business you can take it for a test drive." He looked at the open trapdoor and ran a hand through his hair as he moved past her to peer into it a bit deeper.
"Now this just brings back all kinds of memories." The door she had opened held a great deal of significance for him although he was not sure if Donnica felt the same way. Within that door was the chamber in which Donnica had preformed the ritual that brought him into this realm. In a sense it was the spot within Terra that he was born through magic and ritual to cause mayhem and terror through the lands. He turned back to her and smiled. "Shall we revisit the past?" |

| Donnica's eyes narrowed as he said he ran into trouble. Daven was hers, if anyone was going to kill him it was going to be her. The fact that he had a new body meant that whatever this trouble was he ran into had just managed to find itself on Donnica's bad side. Whoever it was that had managed to destroy a vessel of Daven's had just found more trouble then they'd ever dreamed of. She smiled at the mention of a test drive, letting her fingers roam down his chest. As he mentioned the secret enclave, she turned away from him to walk down into the darkness, her Darklight orbs trailing after her, their soft purple glow illuminating her path.
As she reached the bottom, she reached up and plucked one of the orbs out of the air, pushing it into a small sconce on the wall. Instantly the sconce caught fire, darklight spreading around the room as every sconce hidden in the darkness lit up with the same purple glow. It bathed the Enclave in light, revealing the large altar in the center of the room. Daven had been summoned on that altar, though Donnica had been much younger then, barely out of her teens. She was definitely a woman who aged well, she'd been beautiful then, but it was nothing compared to what she was now. Beauty and power fit her well, and she wore it like a queen wears a crown.
"It's time to find out just how broken the Talos family really is." She moved to the large wall, pulling a large tube out of it's cubby from the shelf. She removed the end of the tube and pulled from it a large piece of parchment paper. It glittered softly in the light, as if it held magical properties. "It's also time to see just how broken Terra is." She brought the parchment paper over to the altar, spreading it out across it's surface. Holding her hands out over the paper, she began to chant softly, the glow of her mana crackling around her fingers. It leapt from her hands to the paper, spreading over it's surface before settling into lines that formed a map of Terra. As the glow dissipated, she brought her hands down on either side of the map, studying it. A soft whistle of surprise met the air as she got her first really look at what was left of Earth. Most of the continents had been severely changed, ocean having taken over. Small dots of different colors rested along the map, a bright purple one centered over the wastelands of what was once North America.
Donnica brought her finger down on a glowing gold dot, accompanied by a softer red dot almost on top of it, sitting in the middle of what was now the Other city of Elyria. "Dulcina...." She breathed a great sigh of relief, glad to know that her daughter was still alive...and apparently reproducing. Good girl.
The amount of dots did discourage her slightly, there should have been far more of them. "I think it's time for a family reunion." Pulling free one of her daggers, she brought the blade across the edge of her thumb, her crimson blood flowing out and dripping down onto the map. Instantly, each of the dots flared to life. The owners of each of those dots would feel a pulling at the back of their mind, and an image of Donnica standing over the map would take over for a few moments. Where ever they were now, they would be able to follow that pull right back to Donnica. The head of the Talos family was calling them home. |

| The contact of her hand upon his flesh as her fingers trailed along his flesh caused his eyes to close for a moment as he enjoyed even the most simple touch from the powerful witch. It was all to brief however as she turned to head into the enclave before them and he followed her into the darkened hall interested to see exactly what she had in mind for this place. He had not been down here since the day he was summoned however it was the most vivid memory he had since coming to Terra and he recalled every nook and cranny the place had to offer. As Donni headed in further his memories conjured the ghost of there past selves walking in the other direction and he saw both himself and a much younger Donni walking past him and a smile came to his face before the memory faded to focus on the present and the younger version of themselves vanished.
The room lit up with the power of Donni's orb and before him was the alter that seemed just as well taken care of as the day he was summoned. While she went to the wall he moved to the alter and let his hand slide along the side of it as again the memories came flooding back to him. He could see her younger self before the alter preforming the ritual and in a blaze of fire he saw his demonic fave etched in flames before her. She was the only one on Terra aside of the priest that knew what he really looked like under the meat suit he carted himself around in. He saw her face in that memory and in her face he saw what drew him to her instantly. Most witches and warlocks would have been a bit fearful when the demon showed itself but he remembered it clear as day that she showed no hint of fear. Donnica was actually excited and even a bit smug as if she knew she was going to not only get a powerful demon but that she could control it.
That young witch did just that of course and managed to not only strike a deal with him but cause him to take great interest in her. She was fearless and at the time was looking in the eyes of a being which could have killed her with very little effort but she never backed down an inch. She was a true vision of tenacity and determination and she only seemed to grow more so with age.Like a fine wine she just got better and better as time went on. Again the memory faded as Donnica moved to the alter and set the map down upon it as she started to divine the current state of both the world and her family. He leaned against a wall out of her way so as not to disturb the woman in her work.
The mention of Dulcina caused him to raise his eyebrow slightly and a smirk to form upon his lips. The daughter of Donnica was alive it seemed and he was interested to see how she was fairing. "This should be rather fun." He leaned up off the wall and took a step foreword crossing both arms over his chest and watching her work to pull her family to her. He did remember Dulcina when he was first summoned and he met her a few times after that but the two never really spoke as he was always to busy playing with Donnica to get to know the girl. One thing he did know however was that she would make a powerful ally and at the same time another person for him to walk on eggshells around even more so then her mother. Dulcina was powerful in her own right but Daven knew that should he cross her or upset her then a very motherly side of Donni would quickly bring itself to the surface and he would suffer that wrath.
The matron drew her dagger and preformed the ritual needed to let them know she had returned. He waited in silence to see what would happen next and he was rather anxious to few the results. He was a demon and the magic they had was powerful but human magic was something very different and it always pleased him to see the witch use her ability's in such ways as this. It was not exactly a weaker form of magic but one that had many more uses then demonic magic. He was bound to the powers he was created with while the Talos family was able to develop new spells and forms of magic whenever they sat down and decided to. Running a hand over his head and focused on the matron and her alter so he would not miss a thing.

| She sat in the soft leather-like chair that was in their front parlor. It was here her own mother had held her and told her stories of old. Now, Dulcina did the same with her young child. Asleep in her lap, Dariella made no noise in her dreaming. Cina only turned the pages of the ancient book she was reading, reading the words of the old spells and meditating on them. Her life felt at a stand still. Was she the ruling Talos? It did not feel that way inside. She did not feel the pride that should swell in her chest as the leader of the dark witches. Perhaps the magic was lost on her… or there was the slim chance that she truly was not the heiress to the evil crown.
As she read the symbols, something felt unsettled in her. She felt the uneasiness of being restless stir within her. Her body tingled, as if it was asleep and trying to awaken. It was a surge of energy that called to her upon the wind, just as she called upon the night dogs, she felt the urge to run. Her mind stirred as she tried to decipher what was making her uncomfortable, and she noticed she was not the only one. Dariella, even as young as she was, stirred in her sleep to the same silent music. Like an expert mother, Dulcina scooped up her child and set her sleeping head on her shoulder. Chest to chest, Dulcina rose from her chair and started to chase the wind. Out the front door and into the night air. She heard her name spoken in a familiar voice.
She took her child and walked into the darkness of the forest. The trees lurking shadows hung overcast. Dulcina embraced them. Closing her eyes, she uttered the incantation that would make her one with the shadows, allowing her to get a great distance quickly. She she whispered into the darkness, she felt the tingling sensation pull against her. She held her baby close and they disappeared into the comfort of the shadows. Darkness took them, quickly, to the calling. She couldn't pinpoint where it was from, but the directions were given by the beat of her heart. As they drew nearer, Dulcina's pulse quickened, eager as to what she would find. If it was anything harmful to become her, she would still have the strength to fight them. With her daughter close by, there was a deeper sense of strength that physical.
Her heat raced like a rabbits. Stop, she thought, and instantly she felt her physical weight again. It took a minute for her to opened her eyes and get a clear sense of where she was. Her head felt fuzzy from the use of a mid-level spell with another, but it was only a moment of grogginess. Shaking her head to clear it, Dulcina looked around. She knew this place, if not by sight, then by smell. Her daughter stirred in her arms and asked where they were, "Shhh… rest your pretty head. Close your eyes. Whatever had called her here was powerful, she could feel it in the air. It crackled around her. She saw two figured in the darkness. Before she thought, Dulcina spoke, barely above a whisper, "Mom…?" |

| As she finished her spell, she knew it would take a few moments before the first would arrive, there were only a few Talos capable of any means even close to Teleportation, the others would have to come by foot if they came at all. But they would all know that the head of the family had returned and they wouldn't be able to ignore her forever. Stepping around the large altar that held so many memories for a witch of her age, she moved to Daven. She brought her thumb to his lips, allowing him to lick the blood from her flesh if he would like, her dark eyes watching him beneath her long lashes. Everything Donnica did was with purpose and usually meant to get her something she needed, and she knew Daven wouldn't be able to resist her offer.
She would then turn back, waiting for the first of their broken family to arrive. The closest was Dulcina, and she did not disappoint. Her dark light orbs cast a purple and blue glow across the secret enclave, but it couldn't mask the amount of disuse this place had seen. Cobwebs and dust covered nearly everything, the only thing to mar the layer of dirt were Donnica's movements, her footprints on the floor, her fingerprints on the altar stone. Once she had thought the altar a huge and imposing thing. This was where she was brought into the world, right there on that altar, surrounded by the Talos family. They were a strong and disciplined line but they still loved each other, they still had reasons to celebrate. The blood of the most powerful witches in history had been spilled in this room, the magic of it instilled in every molecule. She'd never really understood that till she stood here now, with her new understanding of the Mana that encompassed everything on Terra.
It crawled along her skin, hundreds of years of latent magic rested in this room. With her new found senses she had a feeling this room could make her very powerful indeed. She could tap into all that magic and do magnificent things with it. Perhaps this world needed a couple more Fiends running about. Maybe she'd summon a Celestial and let Daven have some fun. Their prattle always did make Donnica sleepy.
She felt Dulcina's arrival before she saw her, the gathering of the familiar power making Donnica smile wickedly. It had been ten years since she'd seen her daughter, she'd missed much and she could only hope her daughter didn't blame her for that. She hoped Dulcina wasn't angry with her, she needed Dulcina for the plans she held for Terra. As her daughter materialized, Donnica stepped away from Daven, her boots echoing off the walls of the Enclave.
As Dulcina spoke, Donnica's smile deepened and she closed the distance between them. Opening her arms, she wrapped them around Dulcina, pulling her daughter into a hug. "Cina, I am so happy to see you." The hug didn't last long, the Talos weren't big on display of affection where non family members could see it. It showed weakness to those that might exploit it. Turning her dark eyes down to the child Dulcina held, Donnica's face softened slightly. Reaching out, she let her dark nails trail down the girl's face, pushing her dark hair out of the way.
"She's beautiful Dulcina, though she has too much Elf blood, she'll need to mate with a human in order to keep the power balanced properly for our future generations. I'm glad you survived the Rift my daughter, there were a lot of nights I wanted to give up on the other side...but thoughts of you kept me going. That and your Aunt Damani never letting me forget that I had a duty to return. It's time this world remembered why the Talos family should be feared." She turned her gaze to look directly into Dulcina's eyes, gauging what she saw there, seeing just how much like Donnica she really was.

| The memories came and went until Donnica finally stepped before and placed her thumb against his lips. His tongue danced from between parted lips to wrap itself around her thumb and remove the salty red liquid from her skin. The game they played was one that was more out of fun then anything else. Donnica kept him happy in order to get what she wanted and Daven did his part by giving her what she wanted so he could remain satisfied. It was nothing more then a unspoken business arrangement between the two and it kept them both in a good place with the other.
All business arrangement's came to an end at some point however and he knew that it was only a matter of time before this one would as well. Neither of the two were fools and they also did not suffer them and because of this Daven knew it was going to come down to who got rid of who first. Donni was not the type of woman who kept something around for simple memories sake and when she got what she wanted from Daven she would most likely just be rid of him back to hell without a second thought.
His thoughts were drawn away as another person entered the room and his eyes drifted to this entity quickly. The word mom hung heavy in the air and before he even got a good look at Dulcina another memory took hold to replace the reality before his eyes. As Donni walked away from him he saw her as a younger witch once more but this time she was coddling the infant Dulcina in her arms and silently strutting about the room with a proud smile upon her face as the child rested peacefully within her arms.
The spirit like memory fell away as reality crashed back in at the sound of Donnica's voice shattering the silence that had just managed to grasp the room once more. The demon had no place in family matters even though he had been around the family since before Cina was born. He had watched her grow until of course the matron of the Talos pulled her little vanishing act and when that occurred he had simply left the girl to her own devices.
The family scene before him was one that caused an extreme case of boredom to settle within him. It was not because he was removed from it but simply because he had no stock in family bonds of any kind. He understood what a moment it was for Donni to see her child again and her grandchild it would seem but for him it was simply a dull moment that wasted his precious time. His mind began to wander as his demonic urges bubbled up within his thoughts to dress the situation a bit.
A simple day dream caused his face to change from a bored expression to a wicked smile with a devilish shine to his eyes. All three of them were drenched in blood as he snatched the baby from Dulcina and placed it upon the alter carefully. In his mind he began to recite and old incantation for summing a minion to the world through a vessel and in this little day dream it was the Talos child that was the conduit through which he gave one of his kin a home to fester and grow within.
He saw the child grow over the years under his own teachings and rites into a powerful force to be reckoned with. The power the child held was one that rivaled even his own while in his demonic body. With the child he took the world of terra by storm and at the end of it all he reigned as king over all the races with his little demonic princess commanding his armies. Oh what a glorious day dream it was indeed but that was all it was.
Daven refocused on the pair once more as Donni greeted her and took a good look at her grandchild. He Gave them a moment before he spoke from his position near the alter however he did not move."Dulcina my dear you have grown into a busy woman haven't you?" He was sure she would be confused at first as he now wore a new face then the one that she would remember. The baby was what truly kept Daven from getting any closer because in truth he was not big on looking at them in any way other then the obvious for a demon.
He licked his lips and leaned back against the alter as the mother and daughter reunited with each other. He was gone from the moment once more as his wheels began to spin and plot on ways to accomplish his own ends. He may have worn the guise of a human meat sack but inside of that fleshy piece of tissue was a calculating and cold killer who's only true passion was to reach his own ends and get his own way. He would continue to play nice and do as he was asked but deep down he was already preparing himself in case the Talos family decided to turn on him. He was going to be ready for all things no matter how small the chance was that they might actually occur. |

| At first she froze in shock. Her breath hung in her lungs as she tried to exhale. Unaware, she hugged her young child closer to her. Donnica was one to tread lightly around even if you were the closest living thing to her. She wanted to keep her baby safe, and she was not yet aware of why Donnica had called her here. So many questions ran through her mind, but a flash of her mothers smile silenced them. The gap between them was closed by her mother and an embrace assured Cina that she was not here to harm her own.
It was true. This was indeed her mother, lost for years before, she'd come back. Energy crackled between them as their skin touched refreshing Dulcina's own energy that had been drained from her by coming here. She felt tired, but not spent. As they parted, Dulcina got to do something she'd been waiting for her whole life. Well, five years of it. She was able to show her mother her offspring and proud as a lion, she did just that. Dariella stayed very still, unaware, and clutched tight to her mothers body. " Thank you, Mother. Her name is Dariella." Of course, with a compliment always came something else from her mother and in a matter of seconds, she was already planning out her child's mating rituals. Dariella looked as id she was going to say something, but Dulcina gave a simple shhh shhh to quiet her. She and Donni could have time to catch up later.
"You didn't bring Damani back with you? And what of my uncle?" Now the questions started. Cina wanted to tell her mother how much she'd missed her, but that would seem a bit like weakness, and Cina was anything but that. After they spoke, Dulcina suddenly noticed someone else was standing near them. At his words, she smirked, "I see you've brought your minion mother. A new form, yes, but the same, scowling look about him." She watched his eyes look at her and then her little girl. The dark witches eyes narrowed at him. No words would be needed for this threat, a look would suffice. It was a clear message touch her and i'll fucking kill you.
With that noted, she chose to hold her daughter for now until she was certain there was a leash on Donnica's dog. "What is it you ask of me, mother?" She said, gazing into Donni's stare. In her own golden eyes there was hatred. Hatred of those who had shunned her for her race and talent. Hatred of those who had taken her mother from her and disdain for those who had oppressed her because she could become the greatest of them all. Wickedness flooded her mind when she imagined their punishments and how she would carry them out once she was free to. The darkness would swallow her enemies leaving her family free to command it.
Dulcina's eyes may be a golden light hue, but the brighter the light, the darker the shadow that lies within. At first she froze in shock. Her breath hung in her lungs as she tried to exhale.
