Appearance:
Kyria is a woman with dark chestnut hair that surrounds her like a rain cloud until the sunlight hits it and brings to life the burnished gold and auburn highlights that makes it shimmer like molten bronze. Her keen gaze is full of mystery, the topaz hues ringed with a dark circle around the iris and gold flaring around the pupil, size depending upon her mood. She is rather normal in her height and weight, neither fat nor skinny, but toned and honed by her years in the military as a Medic during the last years of the war.

Personality:
Ria is rather quiet when one first comes across her. She tends to keep to herself until she gets to know someone; this is due to some rather unpleasant experiences during her stint as a Medic. She likes to watch what’s going on around her and decide whether it’s something that she wants to get involved with before she makes her presence known. She has a lot of acquaintances with a close knit group of people that she will depend on in times of crises. She weighs her words before she releases them, and her actions, once she’s decided upon a course are swift and sure. She doesn’t have a lot of faith in people, but when she trusts, it’s with her whole heart and she is loyal until death to those that she believes in.

Abilities:
Kyria is a medical doctor by training, but she is also a mage that has worked very hard to learn to channel the mana around her into spells that she has taken years to master. Most of the mana comes from within herself, but at times of extreme stress, she can pull a limited amount from around her to boost her own flagging energies, but it is quite limited and she can not take it from another person unless that person gives it willingly.

Spells:

Empathetic Sense of Target is an analytic type of spell that allows her to understand various types of bodies and their inner workings. This helps her in diagnosing illnesses and injuries so that she could not know otherwise without a lot of major medical equipment. It gives her a sense of what is broken, nonfunctioning or functioning abnormally within a body.

Targeted Mending of Bones is a spell that gives her the ability to heal greenstick breaks and push the healing process along enough in a full break that it would make it strong enough to function. In almost all other types of breaks, she would need to use alternate methods. If it were crushed, her only option would be operating and using the magic to strengthen her surgical results.

Targeted Mending of Flesh is a spell that gives her the ability to repair minor to medium cuts, bruises and tears of the flesh or muscle mass of a being, as well as nerves and vessels. It works along the same lines and principles as mending bones, but can be used at a higher level as flesh is more malleable and pliable than bone. This spell is also limited by the amount of mana and strength she has at any given time.

Along these same lines, she can throw a defensive spell that utilizes her targeting abilities and allows her to sense other bodies and biological remains, if fresh enough; within her close proximity, which would be within a 100 feet from where she was located.

Targeting breaking of Bones is an offensive spell that she’s learned and developed over time that reverses her mending abilities and harms rather than mends another’s body. It too is limited to targeted areas as well as levels of mana and strength that she has available.

Skills:
Ria is a medical doctor with years of training as a field medic that she picked up during her stint in the military before the end of the war. She uses her medical skills off and on as she needs for employment or when coming across a person in need. Though she’s cautious by nature, she doesn’t like to come across anyone that’s in need, and will help any that she can. She can think on her feet and is good at improvisation in most situations. She seems to have a natural inclination for healing, as both her mother and grandmother were healers and has passed down their knowledge of holistic medicines as well which serves her well when out in the field.

• the tale of a lifetime•

History:
Kyria Mykals was born to relatively normal parents of mixed ethnicities and has a dark complexion and makeup of one of Latin origin. Her mother was a nurse that worked at the nearest hospital where she took care of a variety of patients, illnesses and traumas. Her father was a military man and had the bearing and outlook that had been pounded into his head since he’d become of age and was thrust into the military life. They met during one of his infrequent visits to the hospital for injuries received during battle. It was not quite love at first sight, but upon spending time with her during recovery, he set his sights upon the lovely nurse and let nothing stop him until he put his ring upon her finger. Kyria’s childhood had been on a rigid schedule, though at times, she’d rebelled and ran off for a day of fun when she knew that her dad was out on tour and could not reach her until well after the stunt was over and forgotten. He was a strict father and knew the dangers that a young girl could encounter in such a chaotic world, but Kyria was headstrong and willful, traits that she’d inherited from him much to his dismay. Though he wasn’t a very demonstrative person, Kyria knew that her father loved both her mother and herself which made the rigidity more bearable.

As a young adult, Kyria was thrust into the military as soon as she finished her medical training through both parental and governmental pressures. With a father that was a brilliant strategist and medical training that increased both her skills and worthiness to the military, a lot of pressure was put upon her to do her patriotic duty.

She’d enjoyed medical school and though she didn’t have much time to herself, she reveled in the increased freedom from parental restraint that it afforded her. She used this time to explore both the world around her and her personal preferences, giving her a chance to discover who she was and what she would like to do with herself in the future. She found that she excelled in patient relations and first felt the empathy with them that would in time, lead to her finding the mana and spells that called to her.

After Med school, she began to be pressured by her parents and officers her father worked with to “Do her patriotic duty”. She not really thought to serve in the military, naïve though it had been and after a few months of haranguing, she gave in and took the walk down to the recruiting station. She did her required stint of time, which coincided with the end of the war. She had served both near the frontline working on causalities, as well as behind a desk when her father decided that they were endangering his only child a bit too much for his comfort and pulled a few strings to get her away from the fighting. Ria made friends easily and enjoyed moving around to new and different territories. She had a few casual affairs, but nothing she wanted to neither remember overtly nor keep momentos from. As the war ended, Ria found herself surrounded by a band of boisterous friends that would remember each other fondly but wouldn’t find themselves longing to reunite in the near future.

After taking a few months to reorient herself to civilian life, Ria looked around for gainful employment and took up residency at her mother’s hospital. After a few years of this, Ria felt like she was wasting away and being smothered so she handed in her notice. At the present, she is living off her savings and in the habit of wandering about, not quite sure what she is searching for, just knowing that she hasn’t found it yet.
