Returning The Fallen City of Celestis to the sky

Background:
The City of Celestis once shared the sky with the clouds high above the world. During the Enlightenment, the mana storms that raged across the planet caused a great deal of damage and the city fell from the sky. The ancient magics and the city itself were severely damaged. The Avian race have been working diligently to repair the city, and find a way to return it to the sky. The knowledge of how their ancestors accomplished the miracle was lost to the ages and the Enlightenment, but that is not stopping them. With Avians determined to help their people, Dwarven craftsmen who seek a challenge, and anyone willing to assist them, they are determined to find away.

Proposal:
The Fallen City of Celestis will be an ongoing series of story arcs that will involve any players who take a vested interest in the city's fate, and those who wish to take part in the unfolding of events. There are no quick fixes for returning the city to the sky. The entire city's structural integrity must be returned to perfect so it doesn't break apart and fall from the sky. The magics must be rediscovered or reinvented. The materials and components for such elaborate feats of magic must be gathered from far and wide, and brought to the city. They must be implemented, tested, and fine tuned to ensure that they will last and be reliable.

Intent:
To generate an ongoing source of writing material for writers to explore, take part, and interact in. While returning the city to its place in the clouds will take a very long time, each step forward will be a rewarding victory for those who choose to take part.

What we need:
At the moment we are in need of players who wish to make Others as player characters, whether they be Avian, Dwarven, or something else. I have ideas in mind for a great many story arcs, but they are nothing more than smoke and dreams without writers to make them a reality. I hope to kind of get this rolling tomorrow. Seinshun will serve as a tour guide for whomever would like to join. He'll provide the official layout of the city while giving a break down of what needs to be done still.

I'm planning to become involved with this sky city in the near future.

Once I get 14 more posts out of the way, I'd like for my Avian to be involved with this plot.

Garrick would be into something like this and would happily gather the things needed with the others and try to help repair it as well.
