| Blue smiled. Don't worry about it. It was a long time ago. A lot of people lost their loved ones in the war. I probably wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for that.
That was the past. The world had learned to move on. So far, it seemed the lesson stuck. The Treaty had been upheld.
Ahaha, she's a go getter that one. Probably kept you on your toes, she said about her sister.
"Actually, I found her quite reserved. Although I can't speak for the Messengers that took over for me. They're the ones that did the actual interactions with your sister." Seinshun would have shrugged had it been in his nature. On the clock, he was rather stiff. It surprised him when Blue locked her arm in his. He allowed it when he decided she wasn't trying to throw him to the ground.
Do you know how they get all these different kinds of flowers to grow in one park? Blue asked as she picked a path. Seinshun figured she'd go for the colorful lane first.
"Celestis never remained hovering over any one location for long," he started. "Biologists would visit the landscape and bring specimens back to the city. After studying the soil composition, they would recreate the environment here in the Gardens. The paths are separated by climate. Tropical and arid climes are regulated through enchantments. That's the only way many of these plants are able to survive at thirty-thousand feet."
A bee buzzed past them.
"Of course, Terra loans us a few gardeners too," he said with a smile. |

| They walked for a while. Blue and Shun together. She was quiet for a while. Taking in the beauty of the gardens. They were beautiful. With the large flowers and the small buds. Even though it wasn't spring everything was in a perpetual state of blooming and being beautiful. The scents here were amazing and she wished again that her mother was here so that she could share it together. She knew that her mother would never believe her. Blue would have to come back and take some pictures with a camera so that she could show her mother the beautiful gardens that Celestis had.
They walked for a while through the gardens until she felt that she had seen enough for the day and she was tired. So they found a bench beside a large sprawling pond on which swans and other swimming birds floated serenely on the surface. They were probably happy to have their own landing pad so to speak when they were doing their natural migration runs from North to South.
Blue had never been much of one for nature. But there were some things that were ingrained into her just because of her heritage.
It's really peaceful here. I can see why people like it so much.
She looked over at Shun with her multi-hued blue and green eyes. She gave him a smile. In the right frame, Blue was quite beautiful. Human, with just enough elven that gave her an ethereal beauty that humans strove to achieve with and without surgery and hardly ever got it. Then she turned back to the gardens.
Well, I guess I've wasted enough of my day looking at the sites. she chuckled. Can you show me where I'll be working now? Or is that someone else's job? When DO you get off anyway? I don't want to soak up your off hours because I'm kinda a workaholic so you probably won't see me again til your escorting me back to the taxi. she chuckled, but it was true. She often forgot to do much of anything. |

| As they walked, Seinshun pointed out a few of the blossoms and trees. He only knew the ones that historical meaning, like memorials in place of stone monuments. Blue found a bench and decided they should sit for a moment.

"It is one of the few places in Celestis where you truly forget you are on a technological marvel." Seinshun caught her looking at him. Speaking of seeing past certain layers, it looked as though Blue was becoming truly comfortable here. The gardens tended to have that effect on people and it had nothing to do with the poppy right behind the bench. It was interesting to see the Elf step (or lean) forward.

"Yes, I probably should before it gets too dark out. I don't know how long it takes to get there on foot. At least you won't have to worry about traffic in the morning. There aren't many who walk to work.
And don't fret about wasting my time. I have tomorrow off. I'll then be on assignment, so it will be some time before our paths would cross anyway. Did you enjoy yourself?"
The soldier then led the engineer out of the fake forest. They wove back through the same streets so Blue wouldn't get lost. He pointed out the street that would take her back to the apartment.
"Too late to ask now, but you do you have problems with tight spaces?" Avians did, but he wasn't going to reveal that tidbit yet. Seinshun stopped in front of a building. Its name was written in Avian but it sported the image of a gear and a wrench. "Here is the Civic Guild office you'll be assisting. Jellico is the one who will meet you tomorrow. I guess it didn't take as long to get here as I thought."
Seinshun shrugged. "Anything else you would like to see?" |

| They continued to walk together. Heading out of the forested parts of the park and towards the beautiful city again. He made sure to point out the different areas where she could recognize landmarks here and there. Also, to make sure that she knew that she could get back to her apartment in a certain way. Going down a certain street. They headed into the city and stopped in front of a large building that he told her was where she would come tomorrow.
No, I don't mind tight spaces. They aren't the most fun, but I'm not gonna like freak out.
She smiled at him.
He asked her if she needed to see anything else while she was here and they were together. Apparently, he was off tomorrow and then he was off on some sort of assignment. Blue looked around for a few moments. Letting her eyes drift on just about everything that was in her eye sight.
You know, I think I'll just head back to my place. Call my boyfriend, and .. just relax. Becaue starting tomorrow, I probably won't be taking any breaks anyway. she smiled.
Blue looked over at her friend, or guide more really. Well thank you, Shun for your tour. It was really thorough and very informative. I won't be any more trouble for you. But, thank you. You've gone above and beyond your duties I'm sure. I wish you a safe journey where ever they send you on your assignment.
She gave a wave, and she headed off back towards the place where she had been told she was to stay. She needed to order her dinner soon since she had to make orders here since apparently the Avians didn't eat. Or something. So she needed to get that ordered quickly before she ended up bugging someone. And of course to call John. She missed that ass all ready. |

{A boyfriend? Interesting. I thought she didn't get out much.} But Seinshun didn't bring it up. Many of the outside contractors had left their families while they toiled away.

"You are most welcome, Blue. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself today. If you require anything else, the doorman in your building can direct you." Seinshun held the door for Blue and nodded as she walked by. When she was out of sight, he stretched his wings. It had been a long time since he had done this much walking without taking to the air. The stormcaller decided he would watch the sunset reflect off the city's reflective walls before reporting in to the barracks.
For tomorrow, he was shipping off to the Wastelands. |
